    3. If you have any luck with this let me know. I'm searching for information on a Caroline W. Yager (my grandmother), daughter of Valentine Yager. My other ancestors are mostly from Columbia County but I haven't asked about the Yagers here since I know of them only in Wayne County. 1. [NYCOL] YEAGER / YAGER
    2. Hello, I am new to this list. I am searching for the parents and siblings of my gggg-grandfather, Henry YEAGER/YAGER. He was born Jan. 5, 1775 in Troy/Albany area, NY. I have recently learned that there were a lot of YAGERs in Columbia Co. I also have seen listed some Henry YAGERs in the 1800 census in Columbia Co. Does anyone have any info on these YAGERs? My Henry married Mary DINGS sometime before 1802, but I don't know where. Mary was born March 1, 1779 in Sullivan Co, NY. They lived in Schoharie County at one point and they moved from Schoharie County to Moscow, Lackawanna Co, PA in 1828, where Mary died March 23, 1829 and Henry died June 26, 1861. Their children were: 1. Catherine (1802-1885), wife of Michael LATOUCHE (they lived in Washington Co, NY till 1832), 2. Maria, 3. Elizabeth "Betsy", 4. Margaret, wife of Spencer GAIGE of Albany, NY, 5. Peter (b April 11, 1814 in Schoharie Co, NY, d Nov. 1905 in Moscow, Lackawanna Co, PA), 6. William (April 3, 1816-Feb. 23, 1901), 7. Henry H. (Aug. 11, 1818-Aug. 10, 1896). I have already looked through Henry Z. Jones books on Palatines and seem to be one generation short of making a connection with my Henry. Can anyone help me? Sincerely, Lisa Woodward Freeport, Illinois wlwoodward@juno.com

    2. Patricia, Thank you for the Baptism records for the children of Francis and Catherine Decker. As there wasn't one for Benjamin b.27 Apr 1823, I can't tie him into this family. Maybe they moved before he was born and was born somewhere else in Columbia County. Are there birth indexes in New York? How would one go about finding this? Bonnie

    1. [NYCOL] Ship captain/Vosburgh
    2. Hi Listers, You've given me good possibilities in the past for my ancestor Isaac Vosburgh, and now I've got a little more information that might help me narrow down the search. He was born 1817/1818 and lived in Columbia Co. Familiy members have told me that he came to this country from Holland in his own ship. So, does anyone have a sea captain by the name of Isaac Vosburgh who fits these birth years? Of course, he could have captained a boat on the Hudson River for all I know.... Glenda Vosburgh
