There is a Hudson directory - I think 1930 timeframe that I found on film at the NARA facility in New York City. I think it included Hudson and Claverack. My husband's family was in the Claverack area at the time but I did not find them in this film. I also found reference in the NY Public Library for a gazetteer and Business Directory of Columbia County 1871 - 72. However, it was stored off-site and not readily accessible. You may also want to try the Hudson Library (I think their phone is 518-828-1792) or Columbia County Historical Society (518-758-9265) Margaret ----- Original Message ----- From: "Malachi 3:16" <mal316@ix.netcom.com> To: <NYCOLUMB-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, May 31, 2001 6:11 AM Subject: [NYCOL] City Directory Question > > > Does anyone here know if there are any city directories for the cities in > Columbia County > during the 1800s or early 1900s? Thank you so much for the information on the Blumberg's. This is great information!! I knew they were Reformed but had no other information. Did they come here for religious freedom? etc. Do you have any other ideas where I might find more information about my family? Thanks again! Diane

Jim Could your Harmon family be related to Catherine Harmon who married John Schraeder (Schrader). By the way, I found your name among my mother's papers. She died in 1992 and had Alzheimers for several years before that - so her papers were redundant. Her name was Evelyn Smith Rosenberg Catherine was married in 1774 in Hagerstown, MD. and one of her children was named Harmon. I am directly related to his line. Hoping to hear from you soon. Hello - I have been trying to confirm that there is a cemetery associated with St. Bridget's Catholic Church in Copake Falls. Assuming there is, does anyone know if there is a transcription or records of this cemetery and who might have these records? I have reason to believe that my great grandmother was buried here in 1938. Her death certificate states that she died in Copake Falls and was buried there. Her funeral was at St. Bridget's. Any help would be greatly appreciated. - Dan - __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! Auctions - buy the things you want at great prices http://auctions.yahoo.com/
