The Society of Friends of Albany Cemetery (burials 1815-1859, Quaker) was small. It had only 14 stones, but 27 names are associated with them. I hope someone finds a relative here. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~clifflamere/Cem/CEM-Friends-Alb.htm Cliff

CORNELL, John -- said by 1902 Cornell Genealogy (CG#3054, p. 278) to have been born in 1738 and died in 1813. He married twice, (1) Mary Quimby and (2) Mary Ann Allen. CG also says "Some of John's family went to Canada, and their descendants are still there." Does anyone know who these descendants were? Any additional information about John?? CG also says that "Some authorities state there was no daughter in this family." Who are those authorities? Has their data been published somewhere? John is shown between two sibling born in 1728 and 1732. Is it possible he was born earlier than 1738? He is potentially the father of Sylvanus, b. 1752 in Westchester, Daniel, b. 1757, and Gabriel, b. 1759/60. Obviously, the age difference between him and Sylvanus makes this connection rather unlikely. But, if John were born five years earlier or more, then the probability rises considerably. These three "sons" did go to Canada and do still have descendants there. John was the son of Joshua Cornell and Charity Haight whose family appears in "Westchester Patriarchs" on p. 58. This possible connection is VERY IMPORTANT to around 50 researchers/descendants some of whom have been looking for their Cornell line for over 20 years and are running out of time. Please help us! Hi, I have the BABCOCK GENEALOGY by Stephen Babcock. There are so many Susan's that I need a date or approximate date. Also, if you have Susan's parents names it would be helpful. Laurien Babcock Fan
Would there be any connection to Ira Kingsley and Susan Babcock?
Cliff: Kudos to both you and Agnes for making the 'Will Abstracts for the Town of Kinderhook, Columbia Co., NY' available to the Columbia Co., NY RootsWeb mailing list!! The wills of Jan Hendrickse BURGHARDT and his son, Garrett, were among the abstracts. The names of children, grandchildren, and in-laws listed in these abstracts have answered many questions for me. I have not yet perused the other abstracts, but expect that will also be very useful, since the BURGHARDT families from around Claverack and Kinderhook intermarried with many individuals of many of those families--GOES, HALLENBECK, HUYCK, KITTELL, KLAUW, LEGRANGE, MOOR[E], VAN DEUSEN, and VOSBURG. Jan was a brother of my direct ancestor, Coenreat Hendrickse BURGHARDT, who also lived in Claverack and Kinderhook before migrating to the area around Great Barrington, Berkshire Co. [then Hampshire Co.], MA in the early 1700's to help establish 'Housatonic Colony.' Thanks again! Hi Bob, Thank you for answering this post. It is an old one and I have visited the Old Kinderhook twice since I posted it. Lovely old cemetery! As for the Mulvey line, it is my husband's and his family comes from Boston, MA. His grandfather's name was Michael Mulvey from Roscommon, Ireland. Wife's name Delia Gumming. They came to the USA in the late 1800s or early 1900s. That is as far as I have been able to trace. My husband Gerard's father's name was also Michael Joseph Mulvey but went by the name of Joe. He was a Metropolitan policemand in Boston and had a brother named John. I have just started research on this line and this is about all the information I have. Regards, Susan
Sarah WHITE and Jehoiakim BURGHARDT, Sr. had several of their children baptized by the Rev. Gideon BOSTWICK at Nobletown [now Hillsdale], Columbia Co., NY between 1770-1793 before migrating on westward to Schoharie, Delaware, and Chenango Co.'s of NY and subsequently to Ashtabula Co., OH ca. 1813. Rev. BOSTWICK's records of St. James Episcopal Church of Great Barrington, Berkshire Co., NY list the following WHITE individuals who were also baptized and/or married by Rev. BOSTWICK. Perhaps these individuals were siblings of Sarah [WHITE] BURGHARDT. Has anyone on the List researched the WHITE family of Columbia Co., NY? Thanks for looking. Hello List, Is anyone researching the CORNELIUS name in the Kinderhook area? I have JOHN CORNELIUS (1758) who married CORNELIA JOHNSON (17??) on 31 May 1784 in Kinderhook, Columbia Co., NY. I'm hoping that someone will recognise these 2, and give me some clue as to who their parents were. Since John seems to have been born 'in America', perhaps his parents may have come from Holland??? And perhaps his parents are in a cemetery in the Kinderhook area. [John & Cornelia came to Canada during the Revolutionary war. Most of their descendants remained in Canada.] I eagerly await replies from anyone who can comment. Thanks in advance.
