Dear Merle & Liz, Ignore the sick ones. The vast majority of those on the lists are great people. This particular list is an especially nice one. Donald L. Hi Liz and Bruce and all other Listers, I do agree with you Bruce. I have found the majority of the Listers have been very helpful to me. And yes, genealogy is always a "learning experience." I too am still learning, especially, about the Civil War, Revolutionary War, King Philip's war, etc. Too bad I did not pay attention in high school history class! It is so much more interesting when you ancestors have been involved and make the history come alive. And there is so much information on the Internet, it some times gets confusing on where to look. I do believe I am running out of space for my bookmarks! Liz, as Bruce said don't get discouraged by one nasty person. We are all willing to help -- just ask. Could anyone shed some light on Maria Groseltern, who married Andreas Morrison who is found in Vol. I, p. 53 of the St. Thomas Lutheran Church (Churchtown) churchbook? She and her husband are listed as sponsors at the baptism of Andreas, child of Henrich Morris and Margareth. Are there references to her family, her birth date, date of her marriage? Herb Morrison
A good source for Hoysradt/Hiserote genealogy is the Peter Silvernail information that has been microfilmed by the LDS church. Film #0000239, "Hoysradt/Streibel Genealogy". I believe that the Arthur C. M. Kelly book is a transcription of the original. Hi Liz, Found Andrew marrying Betsey Busnell 9.25.1833 in the Ghent Reformed Church on page 98, #24 This is from the book: "Baptism and Marriage Records of the Reformed Churches of Ghent, West Ghent, Mount Pleasant, and Stuyvesant Falls, 1775-1899" by Arthur C.M. Kelly, Kinship, Rhinebeck, NY (1972) Also from the same book: Page 16 and all Baptised in Ghent Reformed Church. #335-338 on 10.16.1823 Adam J. Hiserodt and Eve Knickerback baptised: Sally Ann b 7.14.1814 Eliza Ann b 8.28.1816 Annise b 12.23.1819 Cornelius Wynkoop b 9.11.1821 The parents were sponsors. There are no children baptised for Andrew and Betsey. As far as getting copies of the baptisms, I don't know if any of these churches are still functioning. My great-grandmother was a Harter and a descendant of Johann Niclaus Harter, the immigrant, through Lorentz Harter of the Mohawk line. My wife and I attended the Harter Family Reunion in Herkimer in 1981. "The Mohawk Valley Harters and Allied Families" by Marion Kofmehl and Hazel Patrick may be of some use to you. It contains research results from Hank Jones who specialized in the emigration from the German Palatinate in 1709. If I can help, let me know.

Handrick Heysradt is in a list of one draft from the 10th Albany Militia Regiment in the Revolution, but there is no indication of service. However Comptroller Roberts (New York in the Revolution as Colony and State (2nd edition) has Hindrick Hisrot in the Land Bounty List for service in the Revolution in the 10th Albany Militia Regiment. The 10th Albany Militia Regiment was formed in Livingston Manor and Germantown. Agnes Cloninger and I have collaborated on another webpage of will abstracts (proved 1685-1786) that were filed in New York City. This time it is the Town of Claverack in Columbia Co., NY. There are 30 will abstracts in all. The index I created contains all names mentioned in every abstract, which comes to 479 names. Click on any name to go to the abstract of the appropriate will. My hat is off to Agnes for her tireless effort. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~clifflamere/Wills/Wills-Claverack.htm Cliff
