    3. I am a Silvernail descendent and have information on Catherine Porter and Nicholas Silvernail... I am also looking for the parents of a Daniel Porter who married Cornelia McLeod at the Claverack Dutch Reformed Church in Columbia County in 1806. Cornelia was born in Claverack in 1786 and it is possible that Daniel was born about that same time. If anyone has information on Daniel Porter I would be most interested. 1. [NYCOL] Re: Hillsdale Churches
    2. I do not have any further information about Griffin and Anna Wilde, but in The History of Columbia County, published in 1878, on page 373, in the description of Hillsdale is the following: "First Baptist Church of Hillsdale: This church, known more generally at the present time as the 'East Baptist Church,'was organized May 28, 1787, by Revs. John and Stephen Gano. There were fourteen persons who entered into covenant and constituted the society. They were James and Phoebe Martin; Caleb, Jr. and Anna Woodward; William, Jr., and Rosannah West; Ambrose and Joanna Latting; Griffin and Anna Wilde; Ruth Jordan, Esther Terry, Lucy Loop, Sarah Martin."

    1. [NYCOL] List of losses, Robert Noble & Capt Robert Noble
    2. My dad, Robert Nobles who is originally from Hatfield Pt., Kings Co, NB, Canada, is apparently descended from Robert Noble who settled Nobletown. I know that my Canadian Nobles ancestors were Loyalists who settled in Kings County,NB in the 1780's. The first to come was, I thought, a Francis Noble, but new info suggests it was a Sylvanus Noble who recv'd the Hatfield Pt., Belleisle Bay grant where my grandfather Frederick grew up. Descent is as follows; Frederick Embree Nobles, b. 8/2/1896, son of Robert James Nobles, b. 1/25/1853, son of Francis Drake Nobles, b. 1813, son of Deacon Robert Nobles, b. 1788, son of (?) Francis Noble, b. 1757, or Sylvanus Noble, b. 1756, son of (?) Capt. Robert Noble, b. 1731 m. Lydia (Drake?) , of Nobletown, N.Y., son of (?) Ensign Francis Noble, b.1699, d.1747 in battle at Minas, Nova Scotia Most of this info came from my uncle who did this family research for the Mormon site. I know that Capt. Robert Noble was supposedly a cousin of Matthew Noble (From research I did at Hillsdale Library, they have an account, "A HIstory Of Hillsdale, Columbia County, N.Y., by John F. Collin). This account tells of Matthew's settling of Sheffield and of Robert's settling of Nobletown and his clashes with authorities and Van Rensellaer. Part of my confusion is that my uncle's research states that we're descended from Ensign Francis Noble who was with the British army, and came, with his brothers Arthur and James, to Boston in 1720. Capt. Robert Noble however, seems to be descended from the Noble family that had been in the Conn/Mass area from the 1600s. There are 2 Robert Nobles in the "List of Losses" that you posted, do you know if they're related, or could possibly be the same person? Do you know, or can you tell me where to look to find out, if they might be a connection to my Loyalist Nobles? I've tried to find info on this Nobletown Robert Noble, but haven't found anything that verifies the connection to Matthew, or to my line, or to anyone. I'm having trouble fitting Sylvanus in as well. Any info, or direction would be greatly appreciated. Marion Nobles

    2. While we wait for Thurlow Weed IV to get the Weed family tree to me, you might try to look at the biography of Thurlow Weed (the first one). There was a circulating copy in the Columbus Ohio main library a couple of years ago you might be able to get via inter library loan. He has a fair lisiting of the family in it.

    1. [NYCOL] Re: Olivett, Columbia co
    2. According to the research of William Meade Olivett, Flornce with your dates was the daughter of Rowland Ollivett & Emma Lee. But then the family used the same name for many cousins in the same generations so it is confusing and difficult to trace. There are also a LOT of Dorn burials in the Clove Cemetery in Dutchess County. If I do manage to dig up more on Florence, I will let you know.
