    3. Thanks, Cliff from a Californian who has learned alot about Columbia Co from your website! It has been always interesting reading, even though have never been able to locate info on my Barkers or Lusk who were there early 1800s. Appreciate what must be HOURS of your time to make this available to others so much. Regards, Suzanne McCormick Wade

    1. [NYCOL] MYER/SHULTIS
    2. I am interested in corresponding with anyone with information about the Myer line of Columbia County, early to late 1800s. This line descends from SIMON JOHNSON MYER, b. 1787, d. 1826 and burried in Claverack, and his wife CATHERINE SHULTIS, b. about 1790 and d. 1878 also burried in Claverack, Dutch Reformed Church cemetery. They had many chhildren who also had many children, probably originating in Germantown and migrating to Claverack. Simon & Catherines children include JOHN A., CORNELIA M., PETER TEN BROECK, ROBERT BEEKMAN MYER and KATHERINE RUTH MYER BEARDSLEY. My gg grandfather, SEBASTIAN M SHULTIS, b. 1835 is somehow a 1/2 brother of these children. Some of the later generations relocated to Saugerties, Woodstock etc. Bob Vredenburgh

    1. [NYCOL] Catholic Parishes as Sources of Genealogical Information - online
    2. Cliff Lamere
    3. Father Dennis Hughes, a Roman Catholic priest, recently wrote a long response to an email sent to him by Patti Smith. Realizing its value, she sought and received permission to post his response to the Rensselaer Co., NY mailing list. I also realized its value and asked what she would think of my making it into a webpage for other people to view. She thought it was a fine idea and contacted Father Dennis who, by the way, is quite interested in genealogy. He revised what he had written and sent it to me. It is now on my website. Father Dennis describes what information you can expect to find in the following kinds of records: Baptisms, Confirmations, First Communions, Marriages and Deaths. In his own clear style, he also gives a great deal of additional valuable information. If you are searching for any Catholic relatives, you should read the whole webpage. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~clifflamere/Ch/CH-CathParishRec.htm Cliff

    2. Hi: Griffin Wilde/wildey/wylde, son of Thomas & Sarah Griffin, 1743-1817 married Anna Bishop b 1746 d.1822 of Boston, Mass. They moved to Kinderhook NY and then on to Schenectady County NY. Records of his located in the Old Dutch Reformed Church of Kinderhook. Buried in Cemetery near Mariaville, Schenectady County. I do not believe he was one of the founding fathers of the Hillsdale Church but one Wilde/Wildey was but I do have that information in my files. May I ask what other information you may need? 3. Hi Debbie, I have posted on Cliff Lamere's website and article on where to find records at: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~clifflamere/Misc/MI-ColCo-Recs.htm Mt. Washington was Taconic [sic] in 1752 and was west of Sheffield and ran into Livingston Manor in New York. I have a 1752 map I will send to you off list as an attachment. I have a few names of the Dutch settlers in that area from the book "The History of Great Barrington 1676-1922" by George Edwin MacLean. What names in particular are you looking for?
