I always warn that this book is known to have errors and especially, that this particular line is known to be mistaken at the first American generation.Hence, the family is actually of another Kuhn immigrant. This doesn't mean that the later family relationships are faulty but, do be cautious.I'll explain what I know if you are interested.According to this book,Freeman's father was Simon W.Kuhn, son of a Wilhelm or William Kuhn.

He is buried with other family members in Mott Cemetery which I submitted to the Columbia County site. Jacob came up the Hudson River from NY City as settled first in Rensselaer County. He was friends with the Gorton family and 2 of his sons married Gorton sisters, daughters of Peleg Gorton. There is a Bio on this site of William B. Cole a son of Joseph Cole who was a son of Jacob. I don't have much coming down to 1900 on any but the son Jacob Jr. who came to Steuben County with about a dozen kids in tow from Lebanon Springs area of Columbia Co, NY. If you can get back a ways you may connect to my Cole family. If you like I can send you what I have for reference.

    1. [NYCOL] Cornelis VOSBURGH & Annatje BURGHARDT
    2. Otto Burgett
    3. Do the records of any VOSBURGH, GARDENIER, or BURGHARDT researchers reflect that a Cornelis VOSBURGH and Annatje BURGHARDT [b. 1748] were married on 11 Mar 1765 at Livingston Manor, Columbia Co., NY [probably Linlithgo Church]? Cornelis and Annatje [BURGHARDT] VOSBURGH were witnesses at the baptism of one of the children of Johannes Dirkse6 VOSBURGH [b. 1744] in 1774 at Kinderhook. Johannes Dirkse6 VOSBURGH, who m. Cornelia GARDENIER, was a son of son of Dirck Jacobse5 VOSBURGH and Alida VAN ALEN. My VOSBURGH records indicate that there was a Cornelis Barentse6 VOSBURGH [b. 1739], son of Barent Pieterse5 VOSBURGH and Janneje VAN SCHAICK, who was a cousin of the above Johannes Dirkse6 VOSBURGH. It would appear to me that Cornelis Barentse6 VOSBURGH and the Cornelis VOSBURGH who m. Annatje BURGHARDT were the same person. Can anyone confirm this? Annatje Hendrickse BURGHARDT was a sister of Lambert Hendrickse BURGHARDT and children of Hendrick BURGHARDT and Catharine HUYCK. Lambert Hendrickse BURGHARDT was the father of Cathrina Lambertse BURGHARDT who m. Samuel Johannesen6 VOSBURGH, a son of Johannes Abrahamsen VOSBURGH and Sarah GARDENIER. Also, does anyone know whether Cornelia GARDENIER and Sarah GARDENIER were sisters?

    1. [NYCOL] New Revision of my Guide. Cemetery information added.
    2. Cliff Lamere
    3. I have added Albany Rural Cemetery (101,000 graves) and Oakwood Cemetery (over 50,000 graves) to my Guide to Albany Area Genealogical Resources. These are the two largest cemeteries in the area. Earlier this month I added a preliminary section on the Albany Roman Catholic Diocese Cemetery Office. It can direct you to Catholic cemeteries in 14 counties. This section was revised and expanded Saturday. I had also added information on the office of the Catholic Archivist and what information is available there. You can now get information in my Guide for the 11 cemeteries managed by the Albany Roman Catholic Diocese Cemetery Office. But, I have also written to the proper person to encourage them to post the contact information for the 87 parish run cemeteries in the 14 county area of the Albany Diocese. If they don't want to do it, I have asked for permission to post it on my website since I already have the information (from them). Cliff
