    3. My thanks to Shirley and Bill Moore for transcribing the West Ghent Reformed Church Cemetery records for posting on my website. I have posted two versions. You can look for the 565 names alphabetically or by family plot. On my website, look for Vital Records-Deaths, then Columbia Co. Choose the view you prefer. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~clifflamere/ The most abundant names are Dingman, Engel, Kittel/Kittle, Leggett, Link, Philip, Van Bramer and Van Valkenburgh. But, there are a lot of others, of course. Cliff Lamere Albany, NY

Surnames: Burfitt Burfit Burfoot Barfoot Barefoot Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/VRB.2ACE/1752 Message Board Post: I am researching the BURFITT family of New York and Virginia. My ancestor, Thomas G. BURFITT, married Mary Ellafair Adline Finklea. They settled in Alabama. They had at least 3 sons, Godfrey, Frank Edward and Robert H. I believe Thomas was born about 1829. I believe he may be the uncle or older brother of Charles Edward BURFITT of Columbia County, New York. I believe Anna T. BURFITT Jerdone of New York and, later, Virginia to also be related. My Thomas BURFITT named one of his sons Godfrey and another son was named Edward. Charles Edward BURFITT named a daughter Leila R. Godfrey Burfitt. According to another Burfitt family researcher, various Alabama census records give Thomas' birthplace as England, New York and Michigan. I am very interested in Thomas BURFITT of New Lebanon, Columbia County, NY on the 1840 Federal Population Schedule and also Edward BURFIT of New Lebanon, Columbia County, NY on the 1860 Federal Population Schedule1860. I would also be interested in Holeman BURFITT who married Frances L. McCarter on 22 October 1833 in Nelson Co., VA. Does anyone know where Nelson County, VA is and how close it may be to New Kent Co., VA and Louisa Co., VA? I wonder how and if Holeman BURFITT is related to Anna T. BURFITT Jerdone? I have found BURFITTs in Maine and Massachusetts, but not Michigan. Thanks for any leads. Fredreica speyer@bellsouth.net Charles Edward Burfitt Sources: New York: Report of the Adjutant-General. 1. [NYCOL] Albany Co. Wills index 1817-1869 - online
    2. Cliff Lamere
    3. I have just posted an index of almost 3000 names of people who had wills probated in Albany Co. 1817-1869. Darin Flansburg has been creating this index over a long period of time, but with this posting it has more than doubled in size. It has been an ongoing project and will prove to be very useful to many people. If you find a name that interests you, the person's will can be found on the LDS microfilm listed after the name. My thanks to Darin for sticking with this long project. If we are lucky, he may add even more names later. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~clifflamere/Wills/W-Ind-AlbCo-5-21.htm Cliff

I have learned Charles fought in the Rev War but never returned. His wife do not know her first name(Mrs. Traver) remarried a Mr. McIntyre. Charles & Mrs Traver had 2 dauhters, Margaret b. 1777 and Christina b. 1792 so the 2nd marriage had to take place after 1792. I'm assuming the Marriage between Charles and his first wife would be somewhere around 1776. Margaret Traver Silvernail is buried in the Methodist Church Cem in Copake, Columbia County, NY. Maybe a Methodist Church is a place to start is there an old Methodist Church in Rhinebeck? Thanks, Carolyn cwowen@us.hsanet.net
