Hoose/Hoes is the following: Page 254, Item No. 5718 Peter J. Goes and Maria Swart baptised Maria Cornelia on 17 August 1818, she was born 26 April 1818. Arthur Kelly the transcriber of the records cites in the index under the surname Hoes "see Goes." I checked all the male Sickles for a John born circa 1810 but did not find any. Hope this helps, Susan

John Stated that he was born in Greene county and Maria stated she was born in Albany county. John and his wife were living in Berne, Albany county, NY in the 1855 census with Maria's sister Tina Hoose living in their household. The Middleburgh Reformed church records indicate that a Peter J. Hoose/Hoes and his wife removed to the Kinderhook Reformed Church in 1818 - 1819. I have reason to believe that Peter may be Maria's father. If anyone can help me with this family, it would be greatly appreciated.. If anyone has access to the Kinderhook Reformed Church records and would be willing to look for these people, that too would be greatly appreciated. thanks Dave Stott

I would like to contact anyone researching the Cole (Kool, Cool, Kohl) and Minkler families in Columbia County. Specifically, I'm looking for information on John S. Cole of Livingston, who married Elizabeth Minkler. The only child I know of was Eve Cole, born about 1805. She married Burton Herrick in Claverack. Thanks. Tim Masloski Sunderland, MA
I am transcribing a will, dated March 1798, of Johannis Kells , of the Town of Claverack in the County of Columbia and State of New York. It lists his wife as Elizabeth and his children as Hendrick, Johannis, Philip, Peter, Jacob, Abraham, Maria and Elizabeth. It also lists as administrator his brother-in-law Christopher Hagedorn. Testators were Abraham L. Fonda, Rosea Wiessmor, and Peter Weissmor. It was proven before Philip L Hoffman Esq. in Livingston. Does anyone have connections to the Hagedorn line who could help determine if Christopher Hagedorns wife was a Kells or did he have a sister Elizabeth? Bev
Graham Louer has put together a rather extensive compilation of 750 pre-1831 baptism and marriage records for Rees/Race in Eastern New York and a few in western Massachusetts. He extracted them primarily from publications of Arthur C.M. Kelly. There were 32 possible variations of the name (see below), although some spellings do not yet have a proven connection, especially the Ro- spellings. The webpage explains this more fully. RACE, RASE, RAS, RAES, RAUS, RAU REES, REESS, REESE, RESE, RES, REESEN, REESIN, REEZEN, REEST, REIS, REISS, REISIN, REUS, REUSE, REUSS, REYS RIES, RIESS, RICE ROES, ROEST, ROS, ROSE, ROSIN, ROOS, ROOSE http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~clifflamere/Misc/MI-Rees-Race.htm Cliff

My Lorinda Latimore was the daughter of Amos Latimer, according to her 1895 death certificate. She was born ca 1815 in NY. Amos Latimore has been located in 1790 and 1800 New London, CT census with Amos Junior on the 1800. No citation for 1810. 1820 NY census, Amos was in Dutchess Co., NY and born ca 1785. With him on the census were 1 male (presumably John Latimore), a female (presumably Lorinda Latimore), and 3 unknown females (one possibly Angeline who married John Duntz), and 1 other male, plus his wife, unknown. I did not find him in CT in 1820, but with all the spelling variations, I might have missed him. An Amos Latimore/spelling variation was located in New London, CT 1830, none in NY. I did get the film for New London, CT from the FHC, but it was inconclusive. Lorinda Lattimore/etc. married John Magley/42 spelling variations and lived in Columbia Co. I would very much like to know more about Amos. I believe the John Latimore found in Columbia Co. is her brother and Angeline who married John Duntz her sister.
