    3. Grace, I forgot to point out that Albany, Buffalo and Yonkers began collecting their vital records earlier than the rest of New York State. Albany started in 1870 (according to the city's Vital Statistics office), and the other two cities about the same time. Cliff. 3. Grace, Vital records in NY were not preserved before 1880, except for a 1-3 year period around 1847. You might want to read my webpage concerning various kinds of NY Records which explains this and a lot more. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~clifflamere/Aid/AID-NYRecords.htm Cliff Grace Coffman wrote: > I think this question has been asked before but I have combed the archives > and cannot find it. My e-mail went down right after I posted the message or I would have been equally prompt! If I could impose on you further, does the name "Haldrin" have any significance for you? I have only found it referred to in the masculine, which led me to consider the possibility that it is actually an adaptation of a surname. Interestingly, it turns up as a soundex equivalent of the "Holdron" surname and the brief research I've done so far, indicates the possibility of some Holdron families present in the area around Livingston Manor in around the same time period. Would you mind checking the index one more time for the Gallatin Church records for any Holdron variants? I'm also wondering if you have any knowledge of how to access the tenant rolls for Livingston Manor without having to take a trip to New York since I live in MN. Any suggestions? By the way, if you ever have any names I could look up for you in the Rochester, Olmsted County, MN area I would be delighted to return the favor. Thanks again, Beth Plaetzer

I have been trying to find the parents and sibling of my 2nd great grandfather since I first started tracing my genealogy. We know Robert Andrews was born 24 November 1807, or at least celebrated that birthday. He married Huldah Eugenie Webster daughter of Noah John Webster (a farmer) and Desire Alling of Hillsdale, Columbia County, New York. The Webster's are descendants of John Webster 5th Colonial Governor of Connecticut. Robert and Huldah were married about 1833, it is believed in Hillsdale, Columbia County, New York. They lived from 1833 to 1844 in Montezuma, Cayuga County, New York. Three sons were born in Montezuma, Cayuga County, New York Josiah Webster Andrews 1834, Vincent Coryell Andrews 1838 and Tyler Harrison Andrews 1844. Chilson Elmer Andrews was born in Lowell, Dodge County, Wisconsin on 31 December 1846. Chilson died as a boy in Lowell, Wisconsin. Robert and Huldah grew old and are buried in Lowell. Tyler took over Robert farms in Lowell when Robert retire. I am in contact with Tyler's ancestors Vincent is my great grandfather and was a school teacher and father in Concord, Dodge County, Minnesota Josiah died in Pierce County, Wisconsin, no known children. Does anyone know where Robert came from? Does he have any ancestors or siblings? We thought he may be from Herkimer County, but that has proven to be a dead end. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thank you.
