    1. [NYCOL] McIntyre/Weaver 1800-1890
    2. Evelyn McIntyre (Shepard)
    3. Hi List I have searched and searched and........ I am trying to find the names of parents for John McIntyre. He married Harriet Weaver in about 1830-32 in NY - probably Yates or Steuben Co. They lived in Bradford, NY and were on the census records for Bradford in 1850, 55, 65, 75 and 80. Based on ages shown John would have been born in 1801 to 1810. (1801 is on 3 of 5 census records). On one record he says he was born in Columbia Co.; on two he says Dutchess Co. Harriet Weaver b. 1810 or 11 in Dutchess Co. and is the daughter of Jacob Weaver b. 1788 in Dutchess Co. NY .and Hannah ? Weaver b. 1788. Jacob was in Barrington, NY in 1825-1835 at least. Jacob Weaver shows up on Bradford census records in 1850 with sons Martin age 21, William age 17, and Peter age 28 and with Peter's wife (possibly Mercy or Nancy) age 20 and child Emily age 2. Harriet and John McIntyre had the following children: Mary (married Slater) Sarah (married Silvernail) (on one census says she was born in Allegheny Co.) Avry Gilbert (married Catherine ?) Catherine Philena Augusta (married VanTuyl) Cyrus (married Ella Randall) DO ANY OF THESE NAMES LOOK FAMILIAR? CAN YOU GIVE ME SUGGESTIONS FOR FINDING 1801-1810 BIRTH RECORDS (WITHOUT EXACT DATES) IN DUTCHESS CO, COLUMBIA CO.? OR 1830-32 MARRIAGE RECORDS IN YATES OR STEUBEN CO FOR JOHN MCINTYRE AND HARRIET WEAVER? OR A DEATH RECORD FOR JOHN MCINTYRE WHO DIED AFTER 1880 PROBABLY IN BRADFORD? OR GIVE ME ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS FOR FINDING JOHN'S PARENTS NAMES? (I'VE WRITTEN TO STEUBEN CO. HISTORIAN-NO LUCK AND HAVE CHECKED GENWEB BACKWARD AND FORWARD!) THANK YOU SO MUCH!! EVELYN MCINTYRE

    3. The answer is neither. The state takes months (7+ the last time I ordered) and the County Clerk doesn't have the VRs. You should write to the town clerk. -----Original Message----- From: Grace Coffman [mailto:glasker1@bigred.unl.edu] Sent: Thursday, November 01, 2001 5:10 PM To: NYCOLUMB-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [NYCOL] Vital Records Question Hello all, I'm sorry to ask the same questions but I am dumb when it comes to all this :) I want to send off for death certificates for several columbia county deaths. 1. [NYCOL] Edward Fink & Julia An Van Deusen Civil War Pension File
    2. Susan Mulvey
    3. The following was posted in the Somebody's Links Newsletter, November 1, 2001, I thought it might help someone. o I received the Civil War pension records for Edward FINK, born 24 April 1825, in the Columbia or Rensselear County area of New York. The records do not give his birthplace or parents' names. (I believe that this Edward FINK may have had a brother named Willis C. FINK.) Edward FINK was married to Julia Ann VAN DEUSEN on November 21st or 25th, 1849 or 1850 in Nassau Village, Rensselear County, New York, by the Rev. POTTER. (The marriage date varies in the records I have, which span about 25 years.) They had at least two children: Charles E. FINK, born 12 January 1853 in Hudson, New York; and Willis C. FINK, born 15 February 15 1864 in New York City, New York. Edward FINK enlisted in New York in the 67th Regiment NYSV as a 1st Class Musician on 1 August 1861. This regiment is listed as having been from Long Island, New York and having begun as the 70th and then became the 67th. He was discharged at camp near Warwick Court House on 18 April 1862. He reenlisted as a 2nd Lt. with Co. I 125 NYSV in August 1862. According to a medical report in the file, Edward FINK came down with something in November 1862 that became much worse and he was honorably discharged 20 February 1863. After his discharge, Edward FINK lived in Troy, New York until fall 1863 when he and his family moved to New York City, where his address in 1898 was 415 East 84th Street. In 1905, he and the family moved to Rockville Centre, Nassau County, New York, where two his wife's brothers had moved in the 1870s. Edward FINK died on his birthday, 24 April 1913. Julia applied for Widow's Benefits on 19 May 1913 at which time her address was 296 Lakeview Avenue, Rockville Centre, New York. If I can offer further information please let me know. 3. My grandmother rented an apartment in the 1960's in Mrs. Kell's house in Claverack. I was told that it was once Clement Moore's house. I don't know if it was, but that lovely old house looked much better than the gas station that now occupies the site. Constance P.S. If you know of a site that is being run by the New England emigrants in Canaan & New Britain, ca. 1776 and later, I'd love to have the address. Thanks.
