    1. [NYCOL] Columbia Co. Biographies - online
    2. Cliff Lamere
    3. Sally Jankowski had been posting biographies on the Columbia Co. message board. She agreed to send them to me for posting on my website. She may have added some not posted on the message board. The advantage that my webpage has is that I have indexed every name mentioned in the biographies. Women have been indexed twice; under married and maiden names. There are currently 62 surnames and 270 people in all. Many of the bios are written for people who moved away from the county (or their ancestors made the move). This could be a chance to find a missing ancestor. Sources are given for each biography. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~clifflamere/OLists/Bios-ColCo.htm Cliff Genealogy is fun. Accurate genealogy is work.

    1. [NYCOL] Re: [HAYWOOD] Lewis Haywood, Columbia Co., NY
    2. Ralph C. Haywood
    3. Larry, We communicated about a year ago. I have only one wife, Joannah Jones, for Thomas Haywood of Dutchess County. I have the same children but a different order of birth: John, Thomas, Hannah, Lewis, William, Daniel, Lydia, Susannah, Mary, Esther, Jane, Ruth, Charity, and Rachael (not sure why I've spelled it that way). I believe, as you do, that Lewis Haywood (1777-1855) was the son of Thomas Haywood of Dutchess County, but I differ in at least two places with what you propose as this Lewis' offspring. I tend to believe that Stephen Haywood (1805-1838) was the son of a different Lewis Haywood (1750-1831). Milton Haywood was Lewis' nephew; his father was Daniel. I'd be glad to work with you to resolve the Lewises. You don't happen to have a death certificate for Lewis M. Haywood (1834-1919), do you? 2. Ted Pack
    3. Hi Lisa, Welcome to the grand jig-saw puzzle. http://www.familysearch.com/Eng/Search/frameset_search.asp has 102 dead Hagadone and 130 dead Hagadorn individuals. However, that is just one of your surnames. Most of have more we are looking into. That's just one web site, too. There are others. The NY Columbia county board you found is an example. Most of us hide the details - birth date, full name, wedding date and date of first child born - of living individuals. (Those last two are particularly sensitive in West Virginia, where the other half of my family comes from.) What would be really helpful for us would be an ancestor list, if you have a computer program that generates it easily. Use your text editor to hide the details of people born after 1900 or so. Some of your ancestors probably married their cousins; mine did, on both sides, since there were only so many people in those counties and you could only go so far to court someone in the horse and buggy days. Still, you will probably have 28 - 32 ggg-grandparents with distinct surnames. One of them may match one of ours, and then we could swap cousins. ----- Original Message ----- From: <dhshovel@aol.com> To: <NYCOLUMB-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, 06 January, 2002 4:52 PM Subject: [NYCOL] Re: Hagadorn/Hagadone Families > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/VRB.2ACE/1124.1 > > Message Board Post: > > I to am looking for our family tree.f we can help each other then that would be great.
