    3. If I might ask a truly novice question, I have been unable to locate my families in the 1840, 1850, 1860, censuses. I have found wives, brothers, children, etc in several. For instance, I would like to find 1850--a first marriage before husband died in 1854, 1860, widow with daughter and new husband and new son b 1859. Are there state censuses, say in 1855, 1865, 1875, 1885 where I might seek my missing people? How could I access them? Thanks, Candi in California

    3. I have received email concerning quite a few mistakes in the Cronkhite genealogy, especially concerning the early people mentioned in it. Since it is a published work, I cannot change them. However, I can make a separate page of email messages containing corrections or people that any of you would like me to add. You can find directions for this on my webpage. I have added a note of Caution to the file so that the inexperienced researcher doesn't accept all of the genealogy as truth. I have also moved the genealogy to a new location. Yes, can you please send info on the Damm family (that's how I remembered them -- my mother talked about "the whole Damm family." Do you have the 1890 census? I couldn't find my grandmother's family in it. She was born in 1891, but she had a sister Nellie born in 1885, a sister Katharine (Kitty?) born in 1882, and a brother Frank born in 1888. His son, William LeVEE Jr. is listed in census' as born in either Albany or Columbia Co., NY. By 1850 the family was living in Chenango Co., NY, where William Sr. died in 1880. I found a William LAVEE in the 1810 census for Columbia Co., NY but don't know if this is the right person. Supposedly William Sr. had a son named Elias. Rachel LeVee

One that is improperly indexed as "Renyon" (but looks like "Kenyon" when I viewed the film) is (p. 25, l. 9): Kenyon, Horace, 31, m, RI, farmer, $12,000 Kenyon, Delight, 28, f, NY Kenyon, Edwin, 6, m, NY, in school Kenyon, Elizabeth A., 3, f, NY, in school (!!) Kenyon, Lucy, 1, f, NY Edy, George, 20, m, MA Tator,Jonas, 16, m, NY Rivenburg, Mary, 16, f, NY Later on p. 41, l. 42, still in Claverack is the household: Richmond, Mary, 44, f, MA Kenyon, Caroline, 23, f, RI I just looked at 1860 Columbia Co. and find a James C. and Mary, perhaps living next to the family of one of their children (Claverack, p. 558, l. 13): Kenyon, John, 38, m, NY, farm labourer, $500, $200 Kenyon, Catharine, 36, f, NY Kenyon, John, 8, m, NY, in school Kenyon, Mary A., f, NY, in school Kenyon, William, 4, m, NY Kenyon, Eugena, 2, f, NY and in the very next dwelling listed in the census schedule: Kenyon, James C., 69, m, NY, farm labourer, $150 Kenyon, Mary, 74, f, NY I know that Pierpont's parents were a James Crandell (born 1807, died 1867) and Mary (Johnson) Kenyon and that James' dad is also named James (born 1770) and that the family is originally from RI. There was no Catherine Cramer in Columbia Co.On pg. 113A is a family of Moores,but no Marjorie. There is a family of Damms living in Ghent,Columbia Co. & a Fannie Damm in Claverack.
