He had several sons and two daughters, Mary Polly who married Reuben Van Alen and Sally who married Dr. John Vanderpoel of Kinderhook. Timothy Oakley lived on the Rock City Road, the second house in from Chatham Center-Old Chatham road, a brick 2 story home which still stands there. Timothy sold his home to Dr. Dorr. You will find his name in my great grandmothers history of Chatham Center which is posted on the Columbia Co gennet.

Bink and family that left Valatie in approx. 1915 and moved to Albany. The 1900 census lists an Edward Bink, age 17 living in New Lebanon, Any help with would be greatly appreciated. Also where in Columbia County would I do research on this? The county or the town? Any help would be appreciated. George
Is there a Claverack or Philmont historical society or historian? I'm trying to find out exactly when and where my widowed grandfather, Edwin Pier Chapman married widow Myrtie Philip Allen (the grandmother I knew). According to the 1900 Census it must have been 1898. I thinkthe marriage was probably in Philmont, as that was where Myrtie had been born and lived all her life, until after Grandpa died in 1946. And Grandpa's obit says he had been a member of the Reformed Church in Philmont (this was the Second Reformed Church of Claverack, Philmont) and a member of the Philmont Lodge of Masons. I know I wrote that church many years ago, but nobody every replied. Maybe I should try again. I want to congratulate and say thanks to Susan Stalker Mulvey. I haven't visited the Columbia County website in a long time. What a truly beautiful and well-organized site it is -- one of the finest I've seen.

My Reynolds were from Greenfield Ct and migrated to Pine Plains and Filkintown (Dutchess Co) NY and then to Columbia Co.. I found none of the names you mention in these lines. My Reynolds migrated to Columbia Co in the mid 1700's. Your dates seem to be in the mid 1800's so you might want to check the Dutchess Co. area for them.
That book is also at the Columbia Historical Society. I did get info frm there but the sources aren't really disclosed so some of it may be suspect. My GG granfather was Abram, Bernard's brother. I have done some research on the Beeman's too. Isaac is listed in the DAR patriot Book. Bernard & Abram were born on Ashley Hill in Rider's Mills. I found the old basement of the house in the woods many years ago and would love to go there again this summer. Abram(I have his Civil War diary) was on the ship Aargo in the Civil War. His son David was killed in Compte, Louisiana in an ambush. His son Charles(my G grandfather )was in Richmond when it fell. He wrote a letter from what was the previous Confederate president's shortly after Richmond fell. Doris Ashley

Boards that you are related to the Reynolds line. I have been researching my g-g-grandmother Harriet Jane Reynolds who married D.J.Woodlief. Harriet and her family moved from New York City when she was just a young girl and before she was married. Her mother and father were Harriet A. and Allen C. Reynolds. Her grandparents were Susanna and Elnathan Reynolds. Previously of Conn.(don't know where) but Harriet A. and Allen C. Reynolds were married in N>Y.C. January 1810. Do you have any of these members of the Reynolds family in your records. Harriet A. and Allen C. Reynolds had four children Harriet Jane, Susan, Eliza (or Elizabeth) and Lewis A. The Reynolds moved from NYC in 1830 to Texas, where Allen C. Reynolds became the first attorney for the first municipality of Texas when the area was still under Mexican Rule. I would like to find the marriage record of Harriet and Allen Reynolds. I have pictures of their headstones in Texas. Any information would be appreciated Best regards, L.Scott [email protected]

The only library copy of the Finch/Ashley book I can find is in the Chatham library. I haven't looked at it for a while. Do you know what the source was for the birth records of Abraham and Delilah? By the way I've discovered that Isaac and Lydia never settled in Kent, Conn. The authors of the book never read the Revolutionary War pension application that Isaac made out. After the war they came to the Town of Chatham to live. I find out through a publication of the minutes that they joined the North Chatham Baptist Church. In the application, a Daniel or David Ray stated that Isaac had lived in the Town of Chatham for over forty years and the statement was dated about 1832. I'm just remembering off the top of my head. I would be glad to email you a copy of my transcription. Isaac also appeared on the 1840 veterans census living with an Ashley whose first name began with a J. What information do you have about the Bemans? I am very curious. I haven't been able to find a lot. I didn't discover that I had relatives in Columbia County until I grew up and moved away. Sad. Thank you very much.
