    3. Hi Linda, In my "History of Clinton County, I have several William SMITH'S showing on the Civil War rosters for Plattsburgh and Ausable. I also show a William SMITH as being one of the founding families of Black Brook. I do not believe any of these William SMITH it the ancestor you are looking for.
