Missed the first of this thread, so don't know what that reference is from which you're working. If it's a Vermont reference, could you please check Butlers who might have enlisted from North Hero/Grand Isle County. I'm particularly interested in James Butler, who later lived in Beekmantown, Clinton County, but is from the Butler group in Grand Isle . It's entirely possible that he returned to Vermont to enlist.
