The only thing I found in state records was Elijah WHITE's deed, where his children sold his property after he died in 1877, but I had to give them the exact page number, etc. in order to have them copy it. They would not search for it. New York has got to be one of the worst state for vital records and to search in. I found where Elijah was buried, by writing to a Mrs. Zaumetzger who sent me some info on Elijah's grave. Luckily, I found where Elijah, Jr. came from Whiting, VT and that he was born in MA, (from his father's rev war papers.) When I got into the MA. sites, I found tons of info on Elijah Jr, Elijah Sr and Sr's parents. I wish all states were like MA. Almost all of Elijah WHITE, Jr's info in NY came from lookups that kind people did for me or from the BABBITT Family Assoc. and Book. marykell
