Realize this is probably too obvious a suggestion, but since you have the death dates, have you tried ordering microfilms of newspapers through Inter-Library Loan, and reading the papers yourself? It's not hard; it just requires some time at a microfilm machine. Your library's eference department probably has a volume that lists newspapers on microfilm. (If they don't, call or write the Plattsburgh Public Library and ask them to tell you what reels to order.) You can order reels for the appropriate period. A few years ago, I started with the earliest papers available for Plattsburgh, and ordered several reels (a pre-PLATTSBURGH REPUBLICAN paper). Because the papers were so small a reel was several years' worth of editions. Found an amazing amount of information, including a great deal of information not listed in 10,000 VITALS... Also, have you written to Dick Ward? He's been reading papers on microfilm for many years, culling the information for his card file. Linda
