Hi List, I am just curious about one thing. Does Clinton County or any of the towns in the county, maintain vital records books as do other counties and towns in other states? I am looking for records but apparently the actual records do not exist. I have just received copies from Vital Record books for both Attleboro and Norton, Mass. for the birth and marriage of a Rev. War relative. As you can tell, these records are for the 1700s. I am searching for only the 1800s in Clinton County. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have already written to the State, County and Town in which the events took place. Paid a lot of money for nothing. I know it was not required until 1880 or 1881 but the same holds true for Mass. and other states, yet I can get vital records from them. Sue [email protected]
