Hi Marykell, I know exactly what you mean. The White surname is as bad as my Roberts surname. I the the will of one of my Roberts who moved from VT to NY. He mentions his children by name 5-6 times during the will but that does not prove your relative is the son being spoken off in the will. Without some kind of paper that states who the parents were, the will is only for intestesting reading. I know it is a direct relative but DAR does not. I even have the application of a cousin whose relative into the Roberts line was the sister of my elusive Roberts. again, without the parentage of my line, who is to say I am correct. Could go bald pulling my hair out on this family. Like you said, the records from VT and MA were easy even though the dates were much earlier. If I wasn't such a nice lady, :-) I would go up to NY and wring a few necks. <G> I am working up in Canada for the moment to close up a few loose documents on my Richardson line and then I will have all the documents back to the Rev. War. No doubting if I am right or wrong on this line. Talk with you later and good luck. Sure wish I had a crystal ball. Maybe I could find some of your loose ends for you.
