Hi, I have received 5 of their marriage, birth and death books and they have been an invaluable help in my research. One of the names I am researching was Belec in Quebec but changed to Belecque, Beneket, Baylake in Clinton County and other variations - with these books in hand I was able to trace them - it was tedious and time consuming but I read each and every entry noting the names of godparents or witnesses as well as the name of the couple getting married or the child being christened. This allowed me to discover the different spellings, sometimes only recognized the first name but was able to associate the different surnames. So now I know that the original ggrandpa I was looking for in Clinton County also had two sisters who married and had children there (because they were listed as godparents to other couples children) and so on. I now have quite a thread to follow and am re-assembling all collateral family members. Well worth the expense. Regards, Andree
