Hi Margo, I am having the same problem. I know Dannemora was where my family came from but I have found nothing. I have gone to Altona, Ellenburg, Ellenburg Center, and Plattsburgh to find things. I found them in West Chazy at St. Joseph's. You might inquire there. The town clerk was not helpful to me either. The Rolland name is not familiar to me but that doesn't mean anything. If he was in a TB sanitorium, it is most likely that he was in Franklin county. There was the Trudeau Institute, Will Rogers Hospital and other cure homes in the area. It was a huge TB mecca in the early part of the century. St. Peter's Church has been helpful to me. It is hard, it seems they are unwilling to extend beyond what they have to do up there.
