Hello Listers: I am looking for assistance in locating Nathan Carpenter and his wife Eliza Defiette. They are the parents of Ann Eliza Carpenter. Ann was born b. 1863-1864 in NY according to census records. I got the names of her parents from cemetery records. I own the 1880 census and and have not been able to locate Nathan in 1880. Perhaps someone has the 1870 census that can help. Ann Eliza married Fred Parsons about 1881 in Clinton Co., NY; however, I have not located a marriage records. Hi, I found Ann Eliza Carpenters birth information from Assumption of Mary of Redford, but didn't find Nathan on the census: Ann Lizzy Carpenter, born 8/22/62 baptized 1/4/63 Father: Nathanael Carpenter Mother: Louise Defayette Sponsors: Albert Defayette and Mary Hebert Quite often, one or more of the sponsors are parents of the couple. There were some other Carpenters in the 1870 census for Clinton County, but no Nathan.
