Hello Listers: I am hoping to connect with someone that is familiar with the family of Russell L. Carpenter b. about 1802 in CT and wife Saloma or Maloma b. about 1814 n NY. I located him in Colton, St. Lawrence Co., in 1880 at the age of 78. I can not find him in 1870, because I do not have access to an index for NY for 1870. I do not think he was in St. Lawrence in 1870. In 1860 I find him in Clinton Co. (Peru) b.abt. 1807 with wife Saloma age 47 and children Nathan (21), Electa (13), Saloma (9) and Caroline(6). I am particularly interested in Nathan. I believe he married Eliza Defayette/Defiette and had a child Ann Lizy Carpenter in Clinton in 1862. I can not locate anything on Nathan and family at all!! Not in 1870 or 1880. I certainly need some help on this one and would appreciate any assistance someone is willing to give! I've been working on this for about 2 years. Karen
