Searching for info on family of Thomas McAlona in Chazy Ny in 1840 census. Have no other information on this family. Cant find them in previous or next census in Chazy or elsewhere. Looked through a history of Chazy in NYS library in Albany and saw a Thomas McAnana listed in index as one of a group of individuals in Chazy to apply for a license to open a tavern in 1847. With messy cursive this could be close. That's all I could find. Most interested in any advice on how to continue looking for information about this family in Chazy area. Church records, land records, etc. My McAlona ancestors were Protestant and came from Belfast area through Quebec and then Champlain NY to Washington Co in 1825-26. I don't believe this to be the same name as McAloon which I have seen in the area. Thanks, Mike
