Hi Cheryl, I have Stebbins in my tree - mine did not go (I don't think!) to NY - they are in Quebec BUT the name is spelled STEBENNE there. Are you aware of the story of their capture in Deerfield MA, in 1704 where they were taken prisoner, brought to Quebec, stayed and had families? Since you stated he married a Marie Lavallee I would strongly feel you need to look in Quebec for your ancestors. If you think this might be worth pursuing I have church records for their parish I can look at as well as names and dates of the Stebenne families. Contact me if you want these. Regards, Andree
