Sue, all I know for sure is that Lambert came to Clinton Co from Orange/Rockland Co after the Revolutionary War. He is listed in the 1790 census in Plattsburg. The family lived in the Saranac area. Around 1830 Lambert's sons John and Cornelius moved to Illinois. Lambert lived for a time with his son Nathaniel in western NY/Erie Co, PA, then moved on to Ill where he died 1833. His second wife, Lovica (who at the time of her marriage to Lambert was the widow of John Moore) apparently remained in Clinton Co. Lambert's first wife, Abbey, died 1813. I have a list and dates of preachers in the Methodist Church of Plattsburgh through 1880 when the book was written. A super great friend gave me their address and I am sending a letter off to them tomorrow and see what, if anything, they have in their archives on my family. She said that the original church just merged with another Methodist Church and all their files should be located with this new one. The name, address and phone number is: UNITED METHODIST CHURCH 127 Beekman Street Plattsburgh, NY 12901 (518) 563-2992 Here's hoping you can find what you are looking for.
