One has to realize that there will ALWAYS BE NEWBIES; policies should be stated often. It would do well for "professionals" that a lot of patience need be exercised towards us kids. I find it unfortunate that Wayne appears to be one of those who is afraid to give out his precious information. Why put yourself out here in the first place; stay in your dark musky closet and hold on to those names. for what good it will do. He is not alone. found it quite distressing that on one forum, even a person who I found out later whose gggrandfather and mine were brothers, only refers me to the "Town Clerk" has complete records or buy the $70.00 historical book. 1) That town clerk is at the other end of the country from me. It's often said that genealogy ain't cheap. True. Some folks are not in this for a hobby; they sincerely feel a great desire to connect with family. Just try to imagine what it feels like to be an orphan. BTW: I recently found out the FHC has ALL THE VITAL RECORDS of this town. So, am able to travel 40 miles to view them. Hopefully that in spite of my fatiguing health conditions that once I jot down all this data, it is correct, as I INTEND TO POST IT PUBLICLY. On the flip side on one name list, folks help each other out regardless of direct lineage. I have had folks not only forward things they think might help me find my ancestors, but go out of their way to look for something.I have not asked for this. But then it works both ways. Oh, I'll probably be banned from this list for voicing my opinion ,but what the hay.... Harriet Chase
