To the best of my knowledge, the two primary deeded Indian reserves in our neighborhood in the 19th Century were the Mohawks at St Regis & Hogansburg, on the Canadian border near Malone, NY and the Caughnawaga, on the other (South) side of the river from Montreal. >From time to time individual Indians would establish hunting/trapping camps in various parts of the Adirondacks and their foothills. But to the best of my knowledge, there were no other reservations in the Adirondack area until modern times. (there is currently a small reserve on the Military Turnpike between Plattsburgh and Ellenburg, but this was established late in the 20th Century) I'm unfamliar with the Abenaki history, so it's possible that there was some later migration from Vermont or Mohicans from Connecticut & Massachusetts. But no reservations.
