Yes, I did check the Surrogate's office for probate records on the Moses Allard family. In fact Eddie Shields helped me search there and nothing was found. I also searched for a mortgage record and land deeds in the Deed Office. I also checked the microfilm records of the Plattsburgh Sentinel and Republic and did not find any obituaries even though I have the dates of death from pension records. In the Surrogate's office I found a notice to creditors which was printed in the Albany Tribune in the probate records of Royal Wheeler of Mooers. I've been told that Albany is three hours from Mooers Forks. Perhaps I should be looking in the Albany Tribune for my obituaries. Mooers did not have a newspaper in the 1800's. I did send for all the Allard burials from the McLellan survey and none of it was my family. Thanks for the list of Clinton County Historians. My next step is to drop a letter to Carol Nedeau, Mooers Historian. Oh, we did find Charlotte Allard living with her son-in-law, David Lover in 1892. This was on a Third Election District list for the Town of Moores. I did not know such lists existed, but its as good as a census record. It gives all the people in a household, sex, age, what country born and occupation. This record was forwarded to me from another researcher so I'm not sure where they found the list. Leatrice
