Many of the Protestant records are buried in church archives--you'll have contact the churches. You might also check LDS films--though I know that at least a couple have refused to allow their records to be filmed by LDS. Knowing the denomination of one or both your ancestors would be a great start. My family (Guynup) lived in Saranac at that time. My great grandfather, Aaron Guynup, married Charlotte Hare who was from Peru. They were married by a Justice of the Peace in Peru.
