    1. Re: [NYCLINTO] CARROLL
    2. Linda M. Bifulco
    3. Hi Edie, How are you? I am assuming per the SSDI that she lived and died in West Chazy. That is also where the last of my Clinton County CARROLLs (that I know of) lived. That would be the Robert CARROLL (1858-1917) line with son Everest R. CARROLL (1895-1978) . There is another, youngest brother of my great great-grandfather Edward & brother to Robert, who I have never been able to track. Benjamin CARROLL. He made his first communion (1892 at St. John's in Plattsburgh) and then vanished. An elderly cousin sent me a wife's name and children's names but never said how she knew that and now she is gone. Anyway, Benjamin CARROLL (B. 1870) married a Margaret BURNS. They had two sons, George and Howard; and two daughters, Helen and Margaret. I was trying to determine if this Naomi CARROLL was a connection. Thanks for the reply and helping to try and figure this out. 2. Fred Sedgwick
    3. From Abbe Tanguay's list of surnames. Rosa: First mentioned in 1714 in Quebec. Interesting that the first ones came from Italy - not France. Later this name was sometimes spelt as Rose or Roza. Sometimes the "Dit" name (Alias) Barthelemi was used. Rosir, Roser, Rosio, Rosia are not listed. The closest are: Rosier. Dit St. Michel Rosoir. Dit Monceau Rose. Dit Larose Another possibility is Rousseau, a more common name that could have been changed to Rosa. Fred Sedgwick Pat wrote: > On the 1870 AuSable, Clinton County, NY census, pg16, there is a family listed at the bottom of the page. The name is possibly Rosir/Roser/Rosio. 1. [NYCLINTO] Census Records
    2. Delsey K
    3. Does anyone out there have access to Clinton County Records? Possibly in record form with an index? I have a subscription to Ancestry.com's census records but for this county I've found some through their index but mostly by just searching and since my fast connections down I just can't set through all those images & get housework done. If I could get at least a page or household # it would make my search much faster. I need records from 1900, 1860, & 1850. In the 1900 census I'm looking for Joseph Dupuis/Dupee/Dupey age:40 born in Canada In 1860 & 1850 I'm looking for Thomas Ozier/Osher & wife Julia Catherine (Myatt) Ozier married: Abt 1860 Thomas b.1828 (Abt 32 in 1860), Born: Canada Julia Catherine b.1845 (Abt 14 in 1860), Born: NY Julia believed to be related to John Myatt, b.Abt 1828, NY &/or Michael Myatt, b.1820, NY, both were in the following household in the 1870 Saranac, Clinton, NY Census. Thanks, Delsey
