Is there anyone that could look up census or the birth of my ggrandfather. His name was Allen Ira (Iry was his nickname) that was born Sept. 10, 1918 in Chazy. We want to find a recording of him so bad! I would be forever greatful! Thank you, Dena of Oregon
Hi Andre, I don't know if these are the same books you had before. If not, will you look for a death record for, LaRock/LaRoche, Andre, 1854-55? Also, the Baptisimal record for any of the Children of this Andre and his wife Angelia/Eliza (Stebenne/Stebbins) LaRoche shortly before 1854. Hello Andree! Thank you so much for responding to my query! I look forward to anything you find to share and would LOVE to have the scanned copies you offered! Being here in Japan, I am pretty much restricted to the books I can purchase, vital records I can get from the Town clerks and the kindness of other genealogists - like you! I look forward to hearing from you soon! Andree: Is there a marriage for a Margaret ELMORE /ELMER listed in the Clinton marriage book? Michael
I agree with Harriet, I have 9 years and lots of time and money in my 6200 names but feel that sharing is great, to help people is the best. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] <[email protected]> To: [email protected] <[email protected]> Date: Saturday, February 26, 2000 7:42 AM Subject: NYCLINTO-D Digest V00 #40
I'm looking for Samuel ROGERS (b. 1800) or his sons Henry Phillip ROGERS (b. 12-18-1837) and Edward ROGERS (b. 1838), living in Mooers in 1850 and in 1860. Henry and Edward enlisted in Company G of NY 153rd Regiment from Mooers. Edward was married there to Sarah Ann (LNU). Samuel's wife was Aurelia PERRY (b. 1804). Before coming to Clinton County, they lived in VT, probably Orwell, for a period of time. Samuel ROGERS and Aurelia PERRY were both born in NY. Aurelia's father was also born in NY. I do not know where. Samuel and his son Henry were possibly masons, according to family lore. They all moved to DuPage County IL by 1870, (probably right after the end of the war, as Henry married Nancy Rosetta BEARDSLEY there in 1866). That's all I have. If anyone has any information, no matter how small, I would love to hear from you! I've been trying to trace these ROGERS for four years for my mother, and have made almost no headway. Thanks! Meg Shearer
Hi Andree, What years does your book cover? I have 2 people I would love to get birth and marriage information on. No problem with paying for copying, postage, etc. The years I am looking at range between 1812 for the first birth to 1869 for the marriage. Does this fall within the parameters of your book? If so, I will e-mail you with the 2 names and the dates of birth/marriage with the name of the bride included, to be sure we had the correct person. These are the only 2 people I am missing for documents and DAR application. Andree: Would your baptism and marriage books have anything on Eugene Benham and Angeline Martin marriage and birth of any of their children known ones: Enos, Arthur, Lillian, Marguerite. Appreciate anything on them. [email protected]
Hi Liz, Unfortunately these books only list witnesses at marriages, not parents so not much help there. There are three birth entries under Emeri/Emery but they are in the 1870's. Notice however that one listing reads Joseph Napoleon Emeri/Goderre. Now maybe the Goderre is a clue as in a "dit" name? Regards, Andree
DEAR ANDREE: YOU SENT ME SOME INFORMATION ON THESE FAMILIES THAT I DIDN'T THINK WAS PERTINENT TO MY SEARCH. I WAS WRONG! THANK YOU FOR THE INFORMATION. DO YOU HAVE ANY INFORMATION ON THE PARENTS OF AMELIA EMORY/EMERY BORN 1855 IN WEST CHAZY MARRIED TO PIERRE BOISSY 5/26/1876 ANYTHING WOULD BE GREAT. I'VE HIT A STONE WALL. THANKS LIZ
Hi, Anree, Do your births & baptisms go back this far? This birth date comes from the obituary of my 3rd grt grndfather, Marquis (Marcus) D. MILLER. It also states that he was born on the NY SHORE of Lake Champlain, but does not give the town, county or village. Therefore, I am now searching by date of birth. If you would please check for him, I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance, Judith Goodwin in Florida
Hi Sue, Baptisms and Burials cover 1853 to 1880 Marriages cover 1830 to 1880 for the Clinton County books. Andree
Hi Sue, All the books I purchased for Clinton County baptisms, marriages and burials came from the Northern New York American-Canadadian Genealogical Society, P.O. Box 1256, Plattsburgh, NY 12901. There is also a web site where you can get reprints of their journals, each one is a treasure chest - http://www.rootsweb.com/~nyclinto/default.htm. Hope this helps. Regards, Andree
Hi Maggie, I have the marriages and baptisms books for Clinton County and have seen the name Bisaillon in there. Do you have access to that information of would you like scanned copies? Be glad to do it. Regards, Andree

Linda, That's exactly what I needed!! Had to be up in that corner somewhere. I do believe that the official designation probably was won by the one down by Utica. However, this will make it easier to locate when I go up fro a visit. Who would think a California girl would be able to answer the question :-) Thank you Linda, Sally
BEERS ATLAS shows a town of Clinton in the most northwestern part of Clinton County. (Runs to the Canadian Border.) Just to the south is Ellensurgh. According to BEERS, it was fromed from Ellensburgh in 1845. At the other end of the County, in the SE corner is Au Sable which includes the village of Clintonville. I'm sure, however, that you want Clinton in the Norht. By the way, for those who asked me to look up names in BEERS ATLAS, It's off the shelf and on my desk. This weekend I'll get out the magnifier and look for your ancestors' farms. Linda Dewey San Francisco .

Harriet please re-read my complete reply. I do give out and share information, but I also expect the same from who I correspond with. My family is quite large 11,752 by the 1990 census. As I pointed out I freely give anyone any info I have on their own line. Other research that I do with surnames other than my own I also share, but any good genealogists need to verify the primary sources for themselves. I always encourage anyone to verify what I pass along. Others who have dealt with me in the past will dispute your statement. Wayne E.
