Hi, Jackie, I believe the records are at St. John's Church for both the old cemetery and Mount Carmel. -- Candy_B cbservices@monmouth.com Researching Bennett, Cooper, Vanderveer, Woolley & related families in NJ Researching O'Brien, Brown, Boyle, Cavanaugh, Noonan, Fitzgerald, Spellman, Messier (Macey), LaCroix (Cross), Blais (Blair), Durand, Simonneau, Chabbot (Jabbot, Jabaut), Boucher, Sharron and related families in NY, New England and Quebec
Hi Candy, Have these cemetery records been published or does one have to contact the church directly? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Candy_B" <cbservices@monmouth.com> To: <NYCLINTO-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, July 08, 2002 7:04 PM Subject: Re: [NYCLINTO] Connell burial > Hi, Jackie, > > I believe the records are at St. John's Church for both the old cemetery > and Mount Carmel. > -- > Candy_B > cbservices@monmouth.com > Researching Bennett, Cooper, Vanderveer, Woolley & related families in > NJ > Researching O'Brien, Brown, Boyle, Cavanaugh, Noonan, Fitzgerald, > Spellman, Messier (Macey), LaCroix (Cross), Blais (Blair), Durand, > Simonneau, Chabbot (Jabbot, Jabaut), Boucher, Sharron and related > families in NY, New England and Quebec > >
Hello, Could SKS please check the 1901 or 1902 directory for Plattsburgh for Arthur WOOD - Linesman. Thank you, Carol B.C., Canada
Sara J. (Clingman) CONNELL died in 1928 - supposedly buried at the Old R.Catholic cemetery in Plattsburgh. Trying to get the complete date of death --also to locate her husband Edward Anthony Connell and children Charles, Helen and Catherine. Thanks for any help Jackie
Does anyone have 1905 Plattsburgh Directory to find the above great grandma? Would be very much appreciated. In 1900 she was in Franklin Co with husband, Andrew. I have her as living in Plattsburgh, NY in 1905, possibly with OWEN or OWENS family (her maiden name). Please, Sarah WNY
Good Morning, I'm researching my husband's maternal lines. Her family was from Clinton Co., NY & Canada. His Grandparents are Floyd John OSHER(1922-1988) & Jeanette H. (AGONEY) Osher(still living). Jeannette has supplied me with a lot of information on the generations of family members she's known in her 80 some years but I'm having trouble getting further, since I live in Ohio. Floyd's parents: Thomas Joseph OSHER(1875,NY -?,NY)& Cordelia AGONEY(1891,NY-?,NY) Thomas Joseph's parents: Thomas(nickname-Quebec) OZIER(1831,Quebec,CAN-1907,NY)& Julina MYOTT (1844/46,CAN-Aft. 1910,NY) Cordelia's parents: Michael AGONEY (1854,NY-1944,NY) & Cordelia CHAMPAGNE (1869,CAN-1945,NY) Michael's parents: From Canada Cordelia's parents: David B. Champagne(1811,CAN-1906,NY) & Rose Charron Dit Ducharme(1812,CAN-1900,NY){I have several more generations on this line.} Jeanette's parents: George AGONEY(1892,NY-1970,NY) & Emma DUPREY(1898,NY-1961,NY) George's parents: John AGONEY(1865,NY-?) & Mary L. ?(1875,NY-?) Emma's parents: Joseph DUPREE & Mary DUQUETTE/DUKETTE Questions: Is anyone researching these lines? Does anyone have access to Marriage Records? If so, John AGONEY & Mary L. UNKNOWN was married abt 1891, what is her maiden name? Is there record of Joseph DUPREE & Mary DUQUETTE/DUKETTE marriage? Does anyone have suggestions on where I might find more dates & names? I've heard that it's very difficult to get copies of certificates in NY. Is this correct? Thanks, Delsey
Thanks Kathy. It is very confusing, isn't it? I thought all would be revealed if I could only find my grandpa's orphan home records. Now I have them and I have more questions. Life is very interesting, isn't it. Best wishes Sarah
One thing that comes to my mind is to look for HARTO or variations of the spelling. So many folks were from Canada and when Americans tried to document the French-Canadian names phonetically, they were almost always different from the original name. Our family name has changed from HERTAUT or ARTAULT to CARTO because a g-g-grandfather's name, Jacques HERTAUT, which sounded like Jack CARTO. This could be a lead down the wrong path, but it's always worth thinking about. Kathy Carto Hannon
Could anyone tell me if they find Nellie Hughto and/or Andrew Hughto in Plattsburgh, NY directory or census in 1905? These are my great grandparents and I don't know if they had split up by this time. Nellie placed her son, Clarence in an Orphan Home in Ogdensburgh, NY in 1903 and then takes him back for abt 5 months in 1905 and is living in Plattsburgh. Trying to trace the family, with some difficulty. Nellie and Andrew both remarry at some point after 1903. In 1920 Andrew is in Onondaga Co. and married to Ida Mae or Ada Mae with three children. In 1916-17 Nellie signs her name as Mrs. A.L. Brunner. Trying to find both of them. I have them together in the 1900 census and I have Andrew in the 1920. Need help either with directory or census to find them in 1905-1910-1920. According to 1900 census Andrew was born Oct. 1876, Nellie born Aug. 1883. Both in Canada. In 1920 the age of Andrew changes slightly and he says he's born in US. Actually he came to US at the age of 1 yr from Canada, I believe. Please help. Sarah
