Schraft. Succeeding William C. Burgesses post commander was Anthony Piano. Other elective officers installed were: Senior vice commander, John T. Byrnes; junior vice commander, A. Wesley Gould, and quartermaster, Louis Evans. Appointive officers named by the commander and also given the obligation of their office by the installing officer were: Adjutant, Joseph Fama; officer of the day, Frank Call, Jr.; post advocate, David F. Lee Jr.; chaplain, Frank Quido; surgeon, Dr. John C. Lee, Sr.; trustee Samuel Litts, patriotic instructor, John J., Scanion; post historian, Richard Favaloro; post service ocer, Frank De Lorenzo. Following the installation of post officers, women of the Auxiliary also installed their officers, with Past County President Nellie M. Schraft as installing officer. Succeeding Leora Gardnel as president was Miss Margaret T. Canny. Other officers installed were: Senior vice president, Mrs. Margaret Ivory; junior vice president, Mrs. Marguerite Curnalia; treasurer, Mrs. Schraft; chaplain, Mrs. Marion Vanderlaan; conductress, Miss Margaret Hill; guard, Mrs. Ora Hull; musician and trustee, Mrs. Rosalie De Lorenzo; color bearers, Miss Catherine Hill, Miss Anna Ferry< Miss Eleanor Call, Miss Celia Piano; historian, Mrs. Viola Cumber; patriotic instructor, Mrs. Catherine Dunn; secretary, Mrs. Minnie Dixson; delegates to the county organization Mrs. Lulu Barrows, Mrs. Ethel Sprague. Installation ceremonies followed a dinner at the Eagles Club, prepared by the Auxillary. Lt. Com. Ronald K. Erving, home of liberty, sopek briefly. Surprise of the evening was the presentation to Miss Canny of a corsage by the Norwich Police and Fire Department. Miss Canny in "civilian" life is the city's assistant welfare commissioner.
