Deanna: reply to or with the exact mail, or copy and paste the exact address...it is a coded security measure - simple but effective. Those that bounce are those that folks read and then type according to what they THINK is the address, not what is. Barring the foregoing, there is no problem at my end. I am receiving as usual. The only family I am after is that of Nathaniel Smith, his wife, Lucy (mother nee Lamb) Lynde, one daughter, Mary "Polly" Smith, and apparently, according to the 1772 Census for Guilford, VT, there were four other (unknown) siblings. I am of a mind that: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Assumption: BLOOD IS THICKER THAN NOT... 1. Nathaniel dies 2. Lucy moves back to the area of Leicester, or Brimfield, MA, from whence she came, with kids in tow...they would all have been under 12 years of age. 3. Lucy is the Lucy Smith (wd) who shows up in the Brimfield, MA, Vital Records as having md Thomas Ellenwood, Jun 03, 1784, as his third wife. 4. Thomas Ellenwood's second wife was Mary Thompson, Lucy's daughter's aunt-in-law [see below] or Polly's husband, Solomon Thompson's aunt. 5. Polly Smith md Solomon Thompson in Brimfield, MA: Jul 13, 1786, one year after her mother...reasonable... There is no doubt in my mind that the above scenario is the strongest explanation for the events that unfolded. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- James Thompson md Mary Hancock> James, Daniel, Jonathan, Mary (d), John, Joseph, Mary, Susannah, Elizabeth James Thompson md Mary Hancock-Hitchcock (wd) > Solomon, Bathsheba, Alpheus1, Alpheus2, Solomon. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So, I am looking for 1. death particulars for Nathaniel Smith bc. Sep 16, 1738 and supposedly dying Bet. 1772 - 1785. 2. corroborating proof that Lucy moved to near Brimfield, between 1772 - 1785 3. names of Polly's siblings, children of Nathaniel Smith and Lucy (Lamb-Lynde) Smith first of Leicester, MA, and then later, around 1772, from Guilford, VT/NY Using the Colonial Naming Pattern, the children's names may be one or more of the following: Solomon, Polly, Mary, Nathaniel, Lucy, James, Dorcas, Samuel, Lydia, Jonathan, Hannah. Of course other possibles are available, but I would bet that they would be from the foregoing group, for the most part. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kindest regards, Al Dempster Deanna Smith wrote: > Al, all of my emails to you are bouncing.
