Yes, Solomon did live in Montgomery County, about 1810-20 I believe. Who were the parents of the 1821 guy? May be a link -- ! Thank you much! -----Original Message----- From: nychenan-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:nychenan-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Deanna Smith Sent: Monday, February 18, 2008 7:33 PM To: nychenan@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [NYCHENAN] Vital Records Central NY and Vermont Books The only Solomon Armstrong in the Vt. Books was b. 1821-too late for your interests. Nothing for Henry or John Ferguson. By chance did your Solomon Armstrong ever live in Montgomery Co, NY? The name sounds familiar to me. In Bowman's, Vital Records Central NY from Newspapers, p 84, there is a John Ferguson who died Sept. 4, 1832, age 54 in NYC. He was a Naval Officer and a former Mayor of NYC, also a Judge of the Marine Court Oddly, this entry gives no information as to what Newspaper it was found in. Hi. I don't want to get your hopes up, but I had a client searching this man and I did his Montgomery Co. work. I can't share the information unless I get his permission. We worked together at least 2 years ago so the file may be in my freezing cold store room. I can't remember the client's name right now or I would just simply give you his email address and you could make direct contact. Another idea, in the meantime :~), would be to go over to the Montgomery Co. NY mailing list and ask for the man who was searching the Armstrong-Ferguson line of Montgomery Co., work done by his research specialist Deanna Smith. Hopefully he will still be using that site. I'm printing this email out and will keep it on file.
