I have been hunting for the possible parents of Rachel Gates, who married Elijah Smith. Her eldest known child, Simon D Smith was born ca 1843. Webster Genealogy states Elijah Smith was a stone mason and his wife was Rachel Antonette Gates, per the 1855 & 1865 Rachel was born ca 1819 in Chenango County Anne LIFE MAY NOT BE THE PARTY WE EXPECTED, BUT AS LONG AS WE'RE HERE WE MIGHT AS WELL DANCE. --------------------------------- Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo!
