As an aside, there seems to have been a regular intertwining of the Sweet and Wright families (with a smattering of Holcombs as well). You note: Patience Sweet, b. 1757 Gloucester, RI, dau of Jeremiah Sweet and Freelove Wright In my tree I have: 1) Marriage of Elijah Sweet (1748-1838) and Elizabeth Wright (1751-1827)(Broome Co) 2) Marriage of James K Sweet (1813-1896) and Hannah Wright (1812-1874) (Chenango Co) 3) Lorinda D Thurston (1829-1866), daughter of Elisha Thurston (1798-1874) and Lovice Sweet (1800-1876) married John Calvin Wright (1825-1906) (Chenango, Otsego, Herkimer cos.) The point being that these families seem to have moved from one part of the country to another together. In my case, it helped me unravel two more generations of my Wright line. I couldn't agree more. I've had great success following aunts, uncles, and cousins, particularly of the Sweets and Wrights in Glocester and Smithfield, Providence, Rhode Island 1750 - 1800. I am still looking for ZEBEDEE MATHEWSON who married a daughter of Jeremiah Sweet, Naomi (Nahomy), abt 1780 in RI. Also looking for REUBEN ALDRICH who married another of Jeremiah's daughters, Olive. I had great success with PELEG PECK who married another of Jeremiah's daughter Betsey and removed with at least three related families (Rutenbur, Williams, and more) to Fly Creek/Burlington Flats, Otsego County, NY by 1795. Some of these also moved on to New Berlin and surrounding towns in Chenango. Jeremiah Sweet only had two sons, Benajah, and Philip. I don't think that either left RI. Philip died before Jeremiah. Jeremiah's will notes the children of Philip: Freelove and Hannah! With all you noted plus the Mathewsons and Aldrichs in Chenango there must be hundreds of connections by now!
