Hello all, Many notes of historical interest have been made on the Chenango County NY GenWeb page about Ansel Berry and his son, B. Gage Berry and their historical contributions to Norwich and Chenango County. It was mentioned that Ansel Berry's parents died when he was in his infancy and he went to live with his eldest sister, Hannah (Berry) Ufford, wife of Nathaniel Ufford of Spencer, Tioga Co., NY. Ansel was later in Dansville, and then to Norwich. He was married to (1) Lorinda Gage, and then (2) to her sister, Hannah Gage. The sisters were originally from Enfield, NH. I have not found any reference to the names of Ansel and Hannah Berry's parents who died in his infancy, prob. 1806-1810. [They may have been Joseph Berry & Olive Cook married in Chatham, CT in 1780.] Nor have I found any reference to Ansel's burial place or for the burials of his wives, Lorinda (Gage) Berry, who died in 1835 and Hannah (Gage) Berry, who died in 1890. I have his death date of 10 July 1870 in Norwich, NY. Is there additional biographical information on Ansel Berry that might include his parents names and the place of his burial and the places burial for his two wives? Thanks for looking.
