I've "rescued" two old photographs belonging to the MUDGE and DAY Families of Michigan. The first is a photograph of Miss Oma MUDGE with Laura & Frances DAY of Morgan, MI. The photograph is dated 1904 with Oma likely in her teens or 20's and the two DAY girls about 6 to 12 years old at the time. The second photograph is identified as Mrs. Ruth K. MUDGE (age 89 years), L. E. MUDGE (age 53 years), and Philena Ruth Sandidge MUDGE (age 4 months) when the photograph was taken in Aug 1907. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding this family: Oma E. MUDGE b. 16 Oct 1878 in MI to parents Lorenzo E. MUDGE and Rachael J. DAY. Oma married Asa N. WILCOX (b. 1880 in Barry Co., MI) on 25 Dec 1906 at Maple Grove, MI. Oma died in Caro, MI. Laura DAY b. 8 Apr 1895 in Crystal, MI and Frances DAY b. 12 Aug 1898 in Crystal, MI to parents David DAY (b. 16 Jan 1860) and Minda SANDIDGE (b. 1866) Philena Ruth Sandidge MUDGE b. 16 Apr 1907 to parents Lorenzo E. MUDGE (b. 6 Oct 1853 in Castleton, MI) and Minda SANDIDGE. Philena married Theodore DUTMER on 14 Oct 1934 and had a son Theodore DUTMER. Lorenzo Edward MUDGE b. 6 Oct 1853 in Barry Co., MI to parents Lorenzo Edward MUDGE (b. 26 Dec 1809 in VT) and Ruth King HYDE (b. 10 May 1818 in NY). Lorenzo 1st married Rachel J. DAY on 7 Nov 1855 and they had two children, Oma E. MUDGE b. 16 Oct 1878 in Crystal, MI; and Earl L. MUDGE b. 26 May 1880 in Crystal, MI. Lorenzo's 2nd marriage was to Minda SANDIDGE on 28 Nov 1900 in Crystal, MI and they had 1 daughter, Philena Ruth Sandidge MUDGE noted above. Ruth King HYDE b. 10 May 1811 in Marcellus, NY the daughter of Eliphalet HYDE (b. 21 Sept 1778 in Whitingham, VT) and Jane "Jennie" WALKER (b. 11 Jun 1783 in Chenango Co., NY). She married Lorenzo MUDGE on 17 Jun 1844 in Barry Co., MI and together they had 7 children, Helen A.; Alice; Allie Ruth; Lorenzo E.; Airain or Niram; Mina; and Armena MUDGE all born between 1849 and 1862 in MI. Ruth died 12 Jan 1913.
