He served in the Revolutionary War as a Private, enlisting May 6 and being discharged Oct 15. But he came to Chenango County with his wife, Alice Edwards (second wife Johanna), and children sometime between 1790 and 1796, so I thought he might be lisited in the Revoutionary War Vets book mentioned. One of his sons was Charles (married Mary Hopkins) and one of Charles' sons was Welcome. It is Welcome who has been my 'brick wall' for over 30 years. I have been searching for his birthdate and place, and of course his parents. I found this connection (with Charles and Michael) through the Chenango Historical Society library in Norwich. Welcome married Louisa Angell in Pittsfield, NY in 1843, then moved to Calumet County, Wisconsin in 1850.
