Back in April I wrote the lists about a new search service (free) that searched all the USGenWeb Project sites. This is helpful if you don't know where Uncle Jim, Sister Sue or whatever other relative you are seeking wandered off to another part of the state or a different state. I repeat that here tonight as all states have now been indexed: For all the NYGenWeb county sites - http://www.usgenweb-search.us/NY.html For a specific other state or special project - http://www.usgenweb-search.us/ Plus, and the specific reason for this post, along the same lines is a search engine of census records thus far online: http://www.usgenweb-search.us/census/index.html Specifically for New York - http://www.usgenweb-search.us/census/censusNY.html Tim working on the brick wall pages finally past the test, did ok I suppose
Tim: Thank you very much for this reminder. The first search on the New York USGenWeb site for Lorenzo Sutton brought me a wealth of info, including Civil War letters. The names mentioned are those I have been trying to find in Madison County for years. Here are some of the names: Sutton, Catherine (Rowe)and Lorenzo; Albro, Nettie (Sutton); Bailey, James and John; Rowe, Ransom. I have several old letters writen by some of these folks to each other. Again, thanks very much for pointing me in a new and rewarding direction. I recently attended a family reunion in Chenango County and obtained copies of documents from the late 1800s early 1900s that I hope to post from time to time. The first of these are two yearbook pages. One is marked 1923 and includes photographs and entries for Helen ALDRICH, Leland BENEDICT, Theodore BONNEY, Alice BOYDEN and Mina BURNS. The second page is undated (although I'm guessing it's 1922) and includes photographs and entries for Leona BURWELL, Ralph CUMBER, Gertrude JONES and Mary IVORY. If anyone is interested in copies of these pages, please let me know. Neil Searching in Chenango County for Boyden, Bruce, Casey, Coy, Champlin and Dolan
