Greene NY records show Nathan (born 1781) age 19 and his mother, Abigail, coming to Greene from Dutchess Co. in 1797 (or 1799) after his father Blodgett Smith died in Alford MA (Berkshire ) in 1795. So far we have not been able to find where in Dutchess Co. they lived before coming to Greene. Blodgett and Abigail Smith also had the following children: Reuben Smith born 1792, Blodgett born 1777, Stephen, Jason, Harry, John born 1761, Warren , Olive, Hannah born 1770 and married to Derrick Race, Ellen married to Dow Davis, Polly Mary married to Edward Loomis, Abigail married to John Bristol and Sally married to Buckley.
