    3. Deanna, I know there are a ton of Wrights so I don't want to open Pandora's box but I'm looking for births to John Wright and Mercy Holcomb Wright in the 1813-1830 timeframe and a marriage of Phineas H Wright to Martha ??? around 1835. Also a Jeremiah Montgomery- Rebecca Rowley marriage around 1815 or any children born to Jeremiah Montgomery and Rebecca in the 1815-1830 timeframe. Thank you Max

    3. Hi Deanna, Is there anything in your book about another Brown family: Miner (1782-1855) and Clarisa (? Hayes) Brown (?1785 - ? 1869). They were both born in Connecticut and moved to Otselic or Otselic Center, Chenango County, NY, after the revolutionary war. Miner is buried in Otselic Centre Cemetery. They had a daughter, Calista E. Brown (1830-1901). She married Samuel Weatherly Stone before 1850. I believe they also had other children born while they were in Chenango County. I think possibly a daughter named Harriet born in 1806 and maybe others . Is there anything in the book about the marriage of Samuel & Calista? Or the birth of other children to Miner & Clarisa? I believe Miner also had a brother, Jonathan Brown, who lived in the area. 2. There is a story amoung at least some of the BUTTON people of Eastern Pennsylvania that the original family name was BURTON, but when some member of that family "borrowed" a horse without benefit of the keys, and presumably was hung for the effort, the family changed their name to BUTTON. The book you reference in the URL: "Trials and Triumphs of an Orphan Girl, or the Biography of Mrs. Deiadamia Chase" is interesting. Deadamia was the daughter of John Button (b. 1777) who was the son of John Button and Anna McCoon. Deadamia Button marries Orrin Chase at the home of Mrs. Brown, the widowed aunt of Deiadamia. Can any identify who this aunt was? My Amy Button would have been a widowed Mrs. Brown at the time of the wedding. Could she have been Deiadamia's "Aunt"? 3. Jayne, Below is the info from the directory. One drawback about this directory is that it does not have an every name index, although names are alphabetized by surname within each town or village. In the town of Pharsalia: BUTTON, Benjamin P., (mailing addr. East Pharsalia) road 28 (on the map), dairy w/10 cows, farmer on 154 acres BUTTON, Charles D., (mailing addr. North Pharsalia) r. 28, farmer, leases of Charles Hogaboom 15 acres BUTTON, Ruben O., (mailing addr. North Pharsalia), r. 26, dairy w/10 cows, farmer on 87 acres Another thing that I have sometimes done is to look in surrounding towns or villages, and have sometimes found a relative just across a township border line. I'll do a little more perusing and see what I find. 3. I certainly do understand that. Thank you Tim. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Tim Stowell" <tstowell@chattanooga.net> To: <nychenan@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, February 18, 2008 11:07 PM Subject: [NYCHENAN] Vermont lookups > Now that most folks know of Deanna's offer to do lookups for xyz > person that may have come from Vermont to Chenango county, please ask > her privately rather than on the list to do such lookups. > > In turn, Deanna, please reply to those who write you privately. > > There is no need for the members at large to be subjected to - "no > they aren't listed" messages or blank messages in reply to what > others have said. > > Your cooperation is appreciated by other list members who are tired > of Vermont mail lookups. > > Tim Stowell > Chattanooga, TN > > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to NYCHENAN-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message >

    3. There seems to be some confusion on how to subscribe or unsubscribe from this or any other Rootsweb list. At the end of each post there is this blurb: To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to NYCHENAN-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message If you get each email from the list, one by one - then to unsubscribe do as it says above. To subscribe email goes to the same place but with the word subscribe instead. If you get mail in Digest format - several messages in one email - the address you need to send subscribe or unsubscribe to is - NYCHENAN-D-request@rootsweb.com If you do one of these and it doesn't seem to work, please let me know by sending email to NYCHENAN-admin@rootsweb.com You have to send your email from the address you wish to subscribe or unsubscribe else it'll use the address you do send from. 3. Now that most folks know of Deanna's offer to do lookups for xyz person that may have come from Vermont to Chenango county, please ask her privately rather than on the list to do such lookups. In turn, Deanna, please reply to those who write you privately. There is no need for the members at large to be subjected to - "no they aren't listed" messages or blank messages in reply to what others have said. Your cooperation is appreciated by other list members who are tired of Vermont mail lookups. Tim Stowell Chattanooga, TN

    3. Deanna, Please, could you check for Harvey Bridge, born Jan 1811 Vermont/New York, married Martha A. "Ann" Woodworth in1832. Also, David Daniel Douglas, born 1810 Vermont/New York, married Roxana Welton. Two of their children were also born in Vermont/New York; Andrew, born 15 Sept 1832 and Arthur, born 1834. Thank you very much for looking. Beverly On Feb 18, 2008 9:06 PM, Deanna Smith <dsmith57701@adelphia.net> wrote: > Hi.
