Dear list. Thomas Mawhir (b. 1809 in Ireland; died 1889, Chautauqua County) is one my wife's 3G Grandfathers. By happy coincidence, [reference to it is noted in the margin of his daughter Mary J. Mawhir's 1882 passport application] I have found what I believe is a good cite for Thomas' naturalization record, as follows: Thomas Mawhir New York Supreme Court, Chautauqua County July 25, 1856 I would be most grateful if someone could look at the Court records (or perhaps a separate listing of naturalizations appears somewhere) and check and copy [digital photo is likely the easiest way] this naturalization record, if it exists.
