Swanson, age 3 in Elk Co, PA. She was born in Sweden. The 1900 Pennsylvania census lists 185 Benson's who were born in Sweden. Elk County had 26. These are the closest I can link to you. The following is from, 'History of Chautauqua Co, Downs & Hedley," 1921. I am posting it simply because they are Swed Benson's in Jamestown (relatives?). ANDREW W. BENSON, a prosperous farmer and land owner of the town of Ellicott, was born in Sweden, 3 Feb 1854, son of Bentz Benson & his wife, Inga Cajsa (Olson) Benson. He was educated in Swedish schools, & all his active years have been devoted to farming. He came to the US in 1873, & made Chautauqua Co his home. He owns his farm in the town of Ellicott, & has won an honorable name & standing among his neighbors of the town. He is a Republican in politics, a member of the Patrons of Husbandry, & of the 1st Lutheran Church of Jamestown. Mr. Benson married, in Jamestown, 31 Dec 1878, Christine Lyon, born in Sweden, 26 Dec 1847, daughter of Sven Isaac & Bertha (Peterson) Lyon, both born in Sweden. Mr. & Mrs. Benson are the parents of 2 daughters & 1 son: Anna Matilda, born 2 May 1880; Minnie Elizabeth, born 23 Apr 1882; and Oscar Emil, born 14 Mar 1885. Anna Matilda, the eldest daughter, married Van Curt Eggleston, & they are the parents of 6 children: Edward, Helen, Caroline, Alice, Robert & Mahlon. Minnie Elizabeth, 2nd daughter, married Lambert Cornelius Wimmermark. Oscar Emil, only son, married Florence C. Carlson; 1 daughter born to this union, Virginia Clarice.
