I later learned from my older first cousins, the DALRYMPLEs, that he was called Robby. Merle's dad & my mother were brother and sister. Very few people outside of the family knew that my mother was adopted by the GOOTs in 1915, a very secretive affair apparently when my mom was only days old. My mother never realized that she was adopted until 1965 when her "mother" made a deathbed confession.
