I am descended from peter through my great grandmother Mary Jane Mayme Barnhart who is buried in Chautauqua Cemetery. Her father was Hiriam Barnhart and Rhoda Jane Hardenburg. His father was Peter Barnhart, Jr. and so on. Peter Barnhart was the first one to raise the American Flag on Chautauqua Lake. His original log home was where the Railroad station building is now located. Peter moved up across from the sword and shield restaurant over looking the lake. That home just recently sold.
