I am looking for the town of Forsythe. I have been advised that it is in Chautaqua, however it does not show on the census for 1830. Does someone know if this town had a different name in the 1820s? I have a deed from 1823 referring to Forsythe and the Benjamin Nash family. Virginia

Hi Virginia; I believe the "Town" of Forsythe is E of Westfield, NY. I remember the Forsythe bridge on Rt. 20 between Westfield & Ripley. I believe it would now be a part of the Town of Wesrfield or possibly the Town of Ripley Hope this helps in your search... George G.
